Southern Hemisphere Courses

Here at Dreaming Spires, we are individuals who can work around your needs, so if you can't commit to all 30 weeks of a main course, we have the option of 16-week versions.

This works well for those students who are in the southern hemisphere, whose terms and holidays and seasons are mis-matched to ours here in the UK.

Australia-time Courses Available

For example, we ran a Taste of Middle Ages including add-on composition extension earlier in 2014 for a group of students in New Zealand and Singapore. Time zones were an interesting thing to juggle (especially when our British Summer Time became their winter hours), but the exciting opportunity to share different cultures and expand our global horizons was worth every early-morning rising!

We are currently in discussion with families in New Zealand about a course to start February 2017, so if you are from that area, please get in touch via the contact form so we can get you on the list for receiving further information.

  1. Earlier this year, both my daughters enrolled in the Taste of the Middle Ages course, run for southern hemisphere home schoolers. They were 12 and 14 at the time. I have to say, surprisingly, both really enjoyed it! I thought the elder one would, as she is very literary and loves pushing herself academically. The class has helped her tremendously with her studies towards advanced English (she will be sitting AS English at the end of this year). But my younger daughter, far less cerebral and not a wide reader, loved the class for the social element and also because she gained such satisfaction at being able to read such 'tricky' texts. So, all round, a great success for our family.
